FACILITIES FOR WORLD CLASS INTERNET HOSTING
Strategically located in Costa Rica, our data center can offer you excellent opportunities for reliable service, minimal latency, disaster recovery, and geographic diversity. Our facility has been engineered from the ground up to provide powerful carrier connections and ensure that we meet our uptime guarantee and world class internet hosting. We are located in a secure, monitored, class A building.
Data Center Features
Regulated Climate Control
The data centers' HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) systems are totally redundant. With full particle filtering and humidity control, the storage temperatures are maintained at a cool 72 degrees to ensure an ideal performance environment for your server. The entire center is raised floor design to assist with the airflow.
Power Systems
Secure Hosting Service is not reliant upon the local power grid to guarantee maximum uptime. Our on-site, auto-switched power generators (530 KVA - Caterpillar 3412) and centralized UPS systems provide power conditioning and ensure uninterrupted data center operation. Additionally, every major component of the emergency power system is regularly serviced and tested to ensure that they will continue to function in the event of an emergency
Datacenter Security
Our data centers are physically isolated from everyone but level three technicians. Public access is strictly forbidden. Proximity access cards restrict entry into every datacenter and the facility is completely locked down at all times. All racks are closed door with a key required to open them. Facilities are also under video surveillance and monitored 24x7x365 by our always present guards. A detailed record of employee and visitor entry is maintained at all times.
NETWORK FEATURES
Network Redundancy
The facility network uses intelligent end-user routing software which identifies which path is the most efficient for each data packet and then routes the packet to its destination on the fastest path. This increases the speed at which web pages sent from the server arrive at their destination.
Studies have shown that the most common reason for downtime is circuit failure on Tier 1 provider backbones, the major data highways. To guard against this potential problem we route to two Tier-1 provider circuits. If one experiences problems, traffic can be routed to the other one. Furthermore, because we are within the fiber network of RACSA, the Costa Rican IP provider, we share their digital distribution architecture, which includes private peering network connections to major Internet carriers such as Global Crossing, MCI, and Sprint, and others. These private peering arrangements allow the network to quickly and efficiently exchange packets of data with every major backbone carrier in a one-to-one environment.
Network Reliability
Industry analysis reveals that 70% of downtime of over 10 hours with any ISP is caused by telephone circuit failure. With this network, circuit failure is virtually eliminated as we are within the fiber optic network of RACSA.
The network provider also has peering connections with other major Tier 1 providers that allow traffic to be switched to alternate backbones should the need arise.
The facility features raised flooring. This enables a constant flow of conditioned air and helps to maintain uniform room temperature at all times. In addition, raised flooring reduces static and ensures a professional, computer-grade environment for your servers.
Redundant Cisco firewalls prevent unauthorized network access.
SERVER FEATURES
Custom Web Servers
Our web servers are custom-built industrial machines designed for a 24/7 web serving environment. All servers are equipped with the latest hardware features and current operating systems and database servers. We offer Intel and AMD servers, with single or dual-redundant, 400-watt power supplies, hot swap drives, optional RAID 1 or 5 configurations, and force-filtered cooling systems. In addition, the center is equipped with an inventory of identically configured, burned-in standby servers.
